Global Partnerships Forum Supports the Wharton Innovation Tournament 2021

The Global Partnerships Forum is delighted to partner with the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates and Arabic Knowledge@Wharton, the MENA edition of the online research and business analysis journal published by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, for the second edition of the HCT-Wharton Innovation Tournament 2021, to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on May 8 & 9, 2013.

The program is being led by  Professor Karl Ulrich, Vice Dean of Innovation at Wharton.  The goal of the program is to encourage innovators find new ways of helping communities both local and global.  The HCT-Wharton Innovation Tournament 2021 is an opportunity for such innovators to provide solutions, which could be bold new ideas or then implemented solutions with demonstrated results.  Last year, the organisers received over 100 entries from individuals and teams from the UAE and MENA region.  Of these a group of 12 semi-finalists were chosen to travel to Abu Dhabi to present their entries to a judging panel.  Finally, seven finalists were chosen to compete for prize money and a chance to have their designs scouted by venture capitalists and investors.

The theme for this year’s competition revolves around the creation of unique concepts related to the issue of positive social impact to communities around the globe.  It builds on last year’s theme of business innovation and the organisers expect the 2013 competition to have an even greater impact.

The deadline for entries to the competition is 5pm on April 19, 2013 (UAE time).  For more details on this year’s challenge click here.  The judges will include faculty & members from the Higher Colleges of Technology, The Wharton School and business experts from around the world. .  For additional information, please contact Mr Pankaj Paul, Managing Editor/General Manager, Knowledge@Wharton MENA Edition and Wharton MENA Research Centre, pankajp@remove-this.wharton.upenn.edu
